Biographical History |
The Mt. Hope Papers Collection is an extensive archives of documentary resources related to the Mt. Hope Mine site that presents an extensive picture of the significant operations undertaken at Mt. Hope during the late 1880s through the 1980s. The collection includes maps, books, photos, records, and objects related to mining at Mt. Hope. These items were removed from the Miners' Change House of the 1940s New Leonard Complex. Items which now comprise the Mt. Hope Papers include 3,981 maps (over 8,000 individual sheets) materials including: Mylar, paper, hand-drawn on velum/paper and mounted on linen, building construction plans, mining and processing equipment specifications ranging from 1875 - 1987. Additionally, 650 linear feet of documents housed in their original filing cabinets dating from the late 1800s through 1970s. The documents include: Books, Ledgers, Journals, Magazines, paper documents including: Annual reports, Accident/medical reports, Detective reports, Invoices, and ore shipment records, ore sample analyses, general internal/external correspondence and memorandums |

Arrangement The Mt. Hope Papers are divided into natural groupings, documentary holdings referring to the running of the various companies who ran the Mt.
